As a composer and author, singer, drummer, vibraphonist and driving force of her solo project, Isolde Lasoen is as a real DIY and independent artist. Her style can be described as poppy, cinematic, melancholic, rich and eclectic. Characteristic are her seductive voice and lovely backing vocals, French and English lyrics, impressive arrangements and beautiful instrumentals. All ingredients that Isolde herself loves in the music that has inspired her for a lifetime, such as iconic and obscure soundtracks, French yéyé, '60s and '70s psychedelia, orchestral pop or bombastic symphonic music. As a jazzdrummer, she’s influenced by a lot of artists, going from classic jazz to David Axelrod, François De Roubaix, John Barry, Morricone, french 70’s stuff, Goldfrapp and Serge Gainsbourg. Isolde’s music is full of catchy melodies, epic-feeling compositions, dramatic chords and orchestral string arrangements. Less is more, except in music.
